Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania
Snow tubing in the mountains of Pennsylvania was one of the best experiences I've ever had!
And let me just start off by saying I'm by no means a nature person or athletic. But snow tubing and walking around the fields and abandoned train tracks was so full of adventure and excitement, truly a must try!
Part of the reason for traveling to Pennsylvania was to go snow tubing, and the weather was just perfect to hang out in the mountains with the snowy hills surrounding you.
Montage Mountain doubles as a snow resort in the winter months, and a water park during the summer. There are passes to go skiing, snowboarding, tubing and so much more! I've never been snow tubing, so it really was a treat. The staff is so attentive and really helpful with the instructions and directions around the park. And the actual snow tubing was fun and full of speed! Flying down a snowy hill on a tube is a feeling you just have to try out to understand! All that adrenaline pumping through your body is just indescribable.
I also explored around Scranton, PA, walking along a river bank and attempting to climb a tree whose branches hung down close to the water. The natural plant growth and old tree branches that grew in over the years is a beautiful place to explore and clear your mind. And not to mention collect fun rocks and leaves, which I've been doing for awhile whenever I visit a new place!
Visiting an abandoned railroad track was probably one of my favorite activities. The tracks are on a bridge that overlooks the river, and the view at sunset was picture perfect!
Even though there were missing tracks and planking, walking across the entire bridge was such an experience! Just be careful looking down because you're crossing the river as you walk over! But the view from the middle of the bridge was breath-taking and one you don't want to miss.
Spending some quality time with the outdoors was definitely needed for this city girl! It's always great to detox yourself from the hustle and bustle of the New York City streets.
This little mini baecation/family trip we took was spent partly exploring Pennsylvania and partly enjoying some down time. I can't stress enough how important it is to step back and clear your head. Not to mention stepping out of your comfort zone and experiencing new things the world has to offer.
Such a fun weekend trip, Clarks Summit in Pennsylvania is a great place to visit with family or friends!
